Flag bearers under the Alliance for National Transformation-ANT party in Mbarara city have accused security agencies of intimidating them.
The ANT flag bearers also accused the District Internal Security Officer -DISO Peter Bagampangire of asking them for CVs and other details.
They also claim that even the campaign managers are reportedly being intimidated not to support ANT aspirants.
While unveiling the Mbarara city ANT campaign task force at the ANT Offices in Lugazi Kihindi Cell Mbarara City, the Mbarara city south MP aspirant who doubles as the task force publicity secretary Naswiru Sekamate Tauba said that this might cause fear but asked the public to stay calm.
The task force comprising of 7 people will be serving until a permanent team is selected and confirmed with the involvement of officials from the national headquarters.
The team has asked the Electoral commission to announce the official campaign road map since their fellow aspirants from the Ruling Party have already started campaigning.

In Mbarara city alone, ANT successfully had 23 Candidates nominated from council to MP level including human rights advocate Otatiina Celestine Mugisha who is contesting as Mbarara city North MP, Global High School director of Studies Lubega Muhamadi Medi contesting as city councilor Kakoba central Kyapotani Mbarara city south Among others.
Efforts to get a comment from Mbarara district DISO were futile.
