Uganda People’s Defense Forces-UPDF has recovered two firearms that were stolen from the army detachment in Riwo sub-county in Bukwo district last week.
Major Isaac Oware, the UPDF 3rd division spokesperson, says that the guns were recovered on November 1, 2022, through a peaceful operation in the areas of Riwo sub-county with the help of the community
Samuel Hashaka Mpimbaza, the Bukwo Resident District Commissioner said they have made some arrests and the investigations are ongoing as he commended the security and the community for the timely recovery of the guns, which he said was creating unnecessary panic in the public.
Moses Chemutai, a resident of Riwo sub-county appealed to security to allow the law to take its cause on the criminals.
