Politicians and Boda boda community around Mbarara city have accused Mbarara city leadership of shoddy work and incompetence.
Stanley Katembeya a concerned resident who is also aspiring for Mbarara city lord Mayor cited out the poor State of Katete Bridge.
About 450 million was spent on Katete bridge and was commissioned in 2018/19 despite the outcry from some leaders and activists over the cited shoddy work.

According to the city Mayor Robert Mugabe Kkyebezi ,the weak bridge railings and Barriers were a month ago knocked by a reckless driver who was not arrested but the council is aware and are waiting for money to work on the bridge as he called upon those who are complaining to do their work.
