House suspends today’s sitting after Kampala bombings.

The Clerk to Parliament, Adolf Mwesige Kasaija has suspended today’s plenary following explosions at the IPS building opposite Kampala Capital City Authority-KCCA and the quarter guard at CPS Kampala today morning.

IPS building is found along Parliament Avenue, about 200 meters away from the main gate of the parliament. 

Two explosions have been reported at Kooki towers, opposite Central Police Station and another near Parliament in Kampala District.

Videos on social media also show cars burning near Jubilee Insurance along Parliamentary Avenue.

According to the tweet on Parliament’s official Twitter page, today’s plenary sitting is off asking all MPs and staff who were not yet at the house to stay away due to the incidents.
