Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 23-year-old Susan Kyatuhaire, a student of Valley University in Bushenyi District.

The lifeless body of the third-year Education student was found lying in front of her room in Kitokye cell, Central Division, Bushenyi Ishaka municipality.
Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, says that the deceased was last seen alive at around 08:00 Pm on Wednesday in Bushenyi town.

He says that police investigations are now focusing on ascertaining whether she was killed elsewhere and her body dumped at her doorway.
Kyatuhaire’s friend and roommate, Aijuka Kukundakwe, says that they were with the deceased in the evening after the lectures but she left her and went to town for some private business. She says that she was shocked to find Kyatuhaire’s naked body with head injuries laying on the verandah.
Kukundakwe says that the deceased was friendly to everyone and doesn’t know any person who had a grudge against her. Milton Mwebembezi, the Kitokye LC 1 chairperson, says they have registered increased cases of theft in the area of late because there are many dark spots.
He wants the government to install security cameras or lights along roads, which he says are becoming deadly.

Police say using canine dogs have managed to track down one suspect who has been arrested to help in investigations.

Tumusiime says the body has been taken to KIU Teaching Hospital for postmortem as inquiries continue.
