The fishing communities in Buliisa district have decried the increased theft of fishing gear on Lake Albert, calling on the government swiftly intervene and eliminate this habbit.
This has prompted authorities and other stakeholders to embark on sensitization through associations like Ngacia and Angara fishing Association at Kamagongolo landing site in Butiaba sub county Buliisa District.
Uganda Fisheries and Fish Conservation Association already started engagements with Angara Fishing Association and other fishermen from different landing sites of Hoima, Kikuube, Kagadi, Ntoroko, Pakwach and Buliisa District, District Fisheries Officers, and other interventions.
