IGP Ochola shuffles Police Officers

The Inspector General of Police John Martins Okoth Ochola has made new changes and appointments in the Police Force with up to 69 officers given new roles in the latest reshuffles. The changes mainly affected officers at the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP) and Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) most notably being Commissioner of Police Polly Namaye who returned to the Public Relations Department as Deputy Police Spokesperson.

 Namaye who had just returned from a UN Mission in South Sudan will now take over her previous role as Enanga’s Deputy Spokesperson to replace her predecessor Assistant Commissioner of Police Claire Nabakka who has been transferred to the role of Deputy Police Spokesperson in charge of the Public Relations.

In other changes, Senior Superintendent of Police Bashir Ssempala has been appointed as the Kampala Metropolitan Community Liaison Officer while Assistant Commissioner of Police David Manzi becomes the new commandant of the Very Important Persons Protection Unit (VIPPU), who replaces Assistant Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Mukama who has since been sent to Police Technical Services as the commandant.
