Security has cordoned off the offices of the National Unit Platform- NUP in Kamwokya.
According to our reporter, a joint security team comprising Police and Military police officers has sealed off Old Kira road right from Bukoto to Kobil fuel station.
Some of the security officers entered the NUP offices and detained all officials and parliamentary aspirants who had come to clear with the party, ahead of their nominations tomorrow. The officers searched the offices for undisclosed materials.
Justus Akampurira, the Deputy NUP Electoral Commission Secretary told our that they had no idea why police raided the offices but hastens to add that this could be one of the ploys to frustrate the nomination of their presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
