Despite the ban on processions and large gatherings by the Electoral Commission, thousands of supporters of Kira municipality Member of Parliament Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda have turned up at his home in Kirinnya Bukasa, to escort him for nominations.
The Electoral Commission will today and tomorrow conduct nomination for members of Parliament at all district headquarters across the country.

For Ssemujju’s case, he will be nominated today at 11am at Wakiso district.
The Bukasa Kirinya road is currently half closed after some supporters parked their cars on one part of it. A convoy of cars that is yet to start moving is stretching several kilometers, on the newly constructed road.
Speaking to the media earlier, Ssemujju said that he was going to have a normal nomination.
The Electoral Commission banned all mass gatherings in order to limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  Speaking to URN yesterday, Paul Bukenya, the Electoral Commission spokesman said they will not allow any form of mass gatherings. He said security forces were already briefed on this and will enforce it to the latter. However, as of the time of filling this report, no security personnel are visible here.
